Camping out the Road- Boy Scout Beach

While Pat had his last weekend of ski work/class, Barley and Jackie headed out with some friends for a hike out to the Boy Scout beach area and camped for the night. The weather cleared up throughout the evening, and the Northern Lights even came out!

Barley and I had done a ski tour up Eaglecrest in the morning, so he was EXHAUSTED after the hike out to the beach as well.

Changing Seasons...

Winter (at sea level) looks to be a thing of the past for Juneau. It is now in the 50's most days and there has been ample sunshine. They days are getting longer and we are switching from skiing every day to getting the boat ready for when the King Salmon return in the near future. Here are a few pictures from the last two weeks. More skiing and other winter pictures to follow in the next few days.

The rods and reels we received as wedding gifts are now ready to hit the salt. Thanks again!

One Last Nordic Ski Adventure

I (Jackie) took a day off from the ski area several weeks ago (I know, a crazy thought) and decided to give Barley some good winter/spring exercise. We hiked up to the John Muir cabin and toured around for a couple hours in the sun. The snow was pretty deep still and soft, so Barley got some really excellent post-holing exercise.

Spring Skiing

The weather has been great in Juneau. We have had sunshine for the last month. The signs of spring are showing with longer days and temperatures in the low 50's during the day and below freezing at night. Eaglecrest is only open for one more weekend. We have been taking advantage of the longer days to get some evening ski tours in the past few weeks. Here are a few pictures from when Peter and I went on a ski tour after working at Eaglecrest to the Dan Molar cabin.
